Selection Advice
The SX460 is the most widely installed AVR model globally. Its advantages: lowest price, easiest parts availability, universal electrician familiarity. Downsides: half-wave rectification inferior transient response, no over-excitation shutdown, open-frame shorter life in humid environments. Best for dry indoor generators on a budget.
The AVC63-4: full-wave rectification (~40% lower ripple), potted construction for moisture/dust/vibration protection. $10-15 more but 30-50% longer life. Recommended for tropical/coastal/mining environments.
The EA05A: only one achieving ±0.5% and 5A output — half-tier above. DIP triple voltage = one SKU for three markets. Similar price to SX460, stronger specs. Lower Western brand recognition.
