Overview
The DAVR-95S is an Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) that maintains the generator output voltage within precise limits by controlling the exciter field current. It continuously samples the generator output voltage and adjusts excitation to compensate for load changes, engine speed variations, and temperature drift.
Key Features
- 4A Continuous Output — 63VDC max for gasoline generators
- ±1% Regulation — Stable voltage for portable generators
- Gasoline Generator Optimized — Kipor and compatible brands
- 190-264VAC Sensing — Wide input range
- Compact Design — Fits small generator control boxes

Compatibility
Kipor gasoline generators (KDE series) and compatible portable generators.
Why Choose ZenixPower
- Tight Voltage Regulation — <±1% RMS regulation ensures stable generator output under 0-100% load transients
- Fast Response — Sub-0.5 second recovery time prevents voltage dips during motor starting and load switching
- Dual Excitation Compatibility — Self-excited shunt or PMG-powered configurations clearly labeled for correct selection
- Built-in Protections — Under-frequency roll-off, over-excitation limiting, and soft-start ramp as standard
- Drop-In Replacement — Terminal layout and mounting dimensions match STAMFORD, Leroy-Somer, Marathon, and Mecc Alte OEM AVRs
- Pre-Calibrated — Each AVR ships with factory-default potentiometer settings for immediate plug-and-play operation
Specification Comparison
Compatible Generators 5kW small gasoline generators. The 5KW Universal fits most Chinese-made and generic portable generators. The DAVR-95S is specifically designed for Kipor KDE series gasoline generators.

| Output Current | 5A continuous | 4A continuous |
| Regulation | ±2% | ±1% |
| Voltage Sensing | 120V or 240V selectable | 220V fixed |
| Frequency | 50/60Hz auto | 50/60Hz auto |
| Generator Compatibility | Universal (most 5kW gasoline) | Kipor KDE series only |
| Build Quality | Basic | OEM-spec |
| Price | $8-15 | $12-22 |
Selection Advice
The key decision factor is the generator brand. For non-Kipor generators, the 5KW Universal model is the correct choice — it provides broader compatibility at a lower price, and the ±2% regulation is adequate for portable generators powering basic loads (lights, power tools, small appliances). The higher 5A output also provides more margin for generators whose field windings may have aged.
For Kipor generators specifically, the DAVR-95S is required. Kipor uses a proprietary AVR mounting bracket and connector layout that universal AVRs cannot physically fit. The DAVR-95S is built to Kipor OEM specifications with precise ±1% regulation — critical because Kipor’s inverter-generator hybrids are more sensitive to voltage fluctuations than conventional generators.
Important: do NOT install a DAVR-95S on a non-Kipor generator — the fixed 220V sensing and proprietary connector will not match, potentially causing over-voltage or no-output conditions.
